Budapest, Hungary — January 7
Kraft Rental and Ionart Studios have joined forces to launch OnScreen, an innovative, service-oriented playback solution designed to streamline and elevate on-set graphics and playback for productions filming in Budapest. As part of the initiative, OnScreen will be guided by an Advisory Committee composed of trusted relations from various studios and productions. This committee will help ensure consistent quality, informed decision-making, and a service model shaped by real production needs.
The partnership brings together Kraft Rental’s industry-leading infrastructure with Ionart Studios’ award-winning content creation and visual effects capabilities. OnScreen is further supported by Ionart’s international partners through SurrealArts Group, reflecting a shared commitment to today’s globalized production landscape where exceptional talent knows no borders.
A Partnership Built on Strengths
Kraft Rental provides reliable, production-ready infrastructure that supports filmmakers at every stage of production. Their commitment to sustainability is a core part of their operation, with studio facilities powered largely by solar energy and ongoing initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
Ionart Studios is a Budapest-based visual effects and animation house known for high-quality digital content creation. Backed by Emmy Award-winning leadership and a scalable artist team, Ionart will create and lead the production for on-screen graphics and playback content for the OnScreen service.
Introducing OnScreen
OnScreen is a new service-driven playback solution designed for productions seeking both reliability and creative flexibility. By combining Kraft Rental’s robust on-set hardware ecosystem with Ionart’s evolving content pipeline, OnScreen provides integrated on-set graphics, custom content creation, dedicated artist and technical support, and workflows adaptable to productions of any size. The solution is also aligned with Kraft’s sustainability commitments, creating an efficient and environmentally conscious option for modern productions.
The newly formed Advisory Committee will remain actively involved in shaping OnScreen’s growth, ensuring that the service evolves with industry expectations and consistently reflects the needs of studios and productions working in Budapest.
"After listening closely to our clients’ needs on our last production, I’m incredibly proud of the Ionart team for taking such a meaningful step in providing much-needed support for productions in Budapest. I’m excited to share OnScreen with our peers throughout Hollywood and beyond who are looking to film in Hungary or already have projects underway there.”
— Mark A. J. Nazal, Global Executive Producer, Ionart Studios; Founder, SurrealArts Group
Interactive Content and Hero Screen Solutions
A core pillar of OnScreen is its readiness to deliver interactive hero screen content, not just traditional playback. In modern scene breakdowns, productions routinely distinguish between background elements and hero elements, with hero screens often requiring app-like, slideshow-driven, or fully interactive interfaces displayed on phones, tablets, laptops, or custom devices.
OnScreen is built with this reality in mind. Beyond basic playout, the service supports responsive, performance-driven screen content that can be interacted with live on set. This adds realism, reduces post-production overhead, and gives directors and actors tangible elements to engage with during filming.
By leveraging Ionart Studios’ content pipeline and technical oversight, OnScreen can deliver simulated operating systems, custom user interface flows, and timed, cue-based interactions tailored to specific story beats. This capability represents clear added value over traditional playback solutions and reflects an understanding of how contemporary productions operate.
Interactive hero screen functionality is not an optional add-on. It is a must-have feature, and OnScreen launches fully prepared to meet that expectation.
"We’re proud to introduce OnScreen as part of our expanded services for productions in Budapest. Partnering with Ionart allows us to bring the strength of their global creative network into our ecosystem and offer productions a more streamlined and modern on-set experience.”
— Zoltan Martonffy, Owner, CineSuper and Kraft Rental
